Poured concrete is one big slab. When sandy soil settles under it or a root pushes up, the slab cracks, and the honest fix is to tear it out and pour again. Pavers are individual units set on a compacted base, so they move with the ground instead of fighting it. When something does go wrong, you repair the spot instead of the whole surface.
You get one contractor for the whole outdoor space instead of coordinating three who each blame the other.
Styles and colors run deep. We install pavers from manufacturers such as Tremron, Tri Circle and Flagstone, and you can look at options in our Sarasota showroom by appointment before you commit to a color you will live with for years.
Anyone can set pavers in a pattern. What decides whether your driveway still looks right in ten years is everything that happens before the first paver goes down. We remove what is there now, whether that is concrete, asphalt, gravel or tired old pavers. Then we excavate to depth, install and compact base material, and screed a flat sand bed.
Base depth is not the same for a garden walkway and a driveway that takes a delivery truck, and we do not pretend otherwise. Edge restraint and joint sand lock the field together so the pattern stays tight and the border does not creep out into the grass.
Pavers that have been down through a few Florida summers pick up mold, algae and the chalky white bloom of efflorescence. That is normal here and it is not a failed installation. We clean, re-sand and seal existing pavers, reset sunken areas and swap out broken units. For sealing we use Cobble Loc.
In this humidity, sealing is maintenance on a cycle rather than a one-time purchase. We will tell you when your pavers are actually due, not sooner.
